Social Science Research Analyst, GS-0101-13 1 vacancy in the following location: Washington, DC As a Social Science Research Analyst in the Office of the Commissioner (OC), Office of Data, Analysis, Research, and Evaluation (ODARE), you will provide guidance and direction regarding ODARE's Child and Family Service Review (CFSR) work and other Administration on Children, Youth, and Families (ACYF) monitoring and data dissemination efforts, provide leadership on the development of CFSR national standard and performance measures, and manage the design and production of CFSR state reports. **This announcement closes on May 13th, 2016.** Duties Prepares and analyzes AFCARS and NCANDS data within the context of the data indicators used to monitor state performance on the Child and Family Service Review (CFSR) project. Assists in the development and execution of advanced statistical modeling required for national standard and state performance measurement and monitoring on CFSR and other projects using ACYF administrative data. Techniques include linear and logistic regression and multi-level modeling. Carries out statistical analyses in SPSS, STATA, and similar social science statistical packages. Data management through writing SPSS or Python syntax, constructing aggregate files and pivot tables for ease in analysis. May provide oversight on contracts to support administrative data work and reporting. Provides effective data dissemination and presentation skills through PowerPoint presentations, business analytic software such as Tableau, and in person presentations to staff and outside professional audiences. Use best practices in data visualization to display data results for ad hoc reports or other materials for dissemination. Leads a portion the work of ODARE's Administrative Data Governance Workgroup whose purpose is to increase coordination, integration, and consistency of practice among the division's administrative databases.
