You might want to check in with Rita Swan at Children’s Healthcare is a Legal Duty (CHILD). While she and CHILD very much focus on the degree to which denial of medical care due to religious beliefs and civil statutes around CAN impact child safety and result in fatalities/near-fatalities, she usually has her pulse on CAN and faith communities more generally as well. Rita can be reached at rita@childrenshealthcare.org , http://childrenshealthcare.org/ Also there was a former reporter with the Philadelphia Inquirer who has a particular interest in this area with plain communities in Pennsylvania. If you want I can see if she would be open to outreach. Any great sources on CSA and Latter Day Saints, other Christian denominations, Muslims, etc.? This is for the finishing touches on a manuscript.... Feel free to write me directly at: LFontes@uww.umass.edu Many thanks! Lisa Aronson Fontes, Ph.D. Senior Lecturer University of Massachusetts Amherst
