Subject:Children's Defense Fund's National Conference in July

Hello all, I’m writing on behalf of Marian Wright Edelman to let you know that Children’s Defense Fund is hosting a national conference – Pursuing Justice for Children and the Poor with Urgency and Persistence –in Cincinnati from July 22-July 25. It is CDF’s first conference in almost a decade, and we are eager to bring individuals, teams, and networks from across the country together to take action to close the gaps between the rich and the poor and between what we know and what we do. The conference will focus on the latest research, best practices, and community building models, as well as community and youth empowerment strategies. In addition to seven plenary sessions, we will feature over 60 mini-plenaries and workshops which you can review by clicking here . Our list of leading, nationally recognized speakers is being updated regularly. I also wanted to highlight several sessions focused on child welfare issues which may be of particular interest, including: · Helping Children who Witness Domestic Violence · Strengthening Families to Protect Children from Abuse and Neglect · Finding Permanent Families for Children in Foster Care · Educational Stability and Success: A Goal for Every Child in Foster Care · Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children: Supporting our Unsung Heroes We hope you can join us and that you will help spread the word about the conference to your networks. We will also be offering CEUs for participants. To make it easier to spread the word, I’ve included below a blurb you can use – and links to Facebook and Twitter and other materials. This is an action conference – and an exciting time for us all to strategize together. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
