Subject:Northeast Ohio Fathers involved with Public Child Welfare Research Project

I am a doctoral student in public administration at the University of Akron seeking research participants in Northeast Ohio (Cleveland/Akron/Canton/Youngstown area) for a study of fathers whose children were once involved with a public child welfare/child protection agency. This qualitative/multiple case study project is designed to explore the strengths and needs of fathers who were once involved with the child welfare system. In compliance with the University of Akron IRB approval of this project, the men interviewed must be 18 years of age or older at the time of the interview and their child(ren)'s case with the public child welfare agency must be closed at the time that the research interview occurs. If you know of a fatherhood group that works with men whose children were once involved with the pubic child welfare system, please contact me off-list for more information about this study. I would be happy to come to fatherhood group meetings in Northeast Ohio to talk about the study with potential research participants. Thank you, Kevin Brown
