I am a consultant and trainer with the North Carolina Division of Social Services, and I’m hoping someone can help provide me with some information. Our Division currently has a specific Child Welfare Domestic Violence Policy that provides guidance to our local county Departments of Social Services on how to achieve best practices when working with families experiencing domestic violence during the Child Protective Services process. I am working on updating our policy to include guidelines for foster care, and was wondering how many other states have similar policies. Specifically, I am looking for policies that include protocols for child placement/ foster care in domestic violence cases. If you know of any states with domestic violence-specific policies in CPS or Foster Care, please point me in the right direction. Thank you!
