CHILD MALTREATMENT JOURNAL CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: EDITORIAL BOARD Child Maltreatment (CM) is soliciting nominations of professionals from a variety of research and professional disciplines, cultural backgrounds and perspectives to serve on the CM Editorial Board. Editorial Board members’ responsibilities include promoting the journal by encouraging submission of high-quality manuscripts, consulting on the overall direction and focus for the journal, providing anonymous peer review of submitted manuscripts, and working on special projects as needed. Prospective Board members should be willing to review up to six manuscripts annually. Board Members serve a nine year term and may serve more than one term by reapplying at the end of their term or after rotating off the Board. It is anticipated that up to 10 members will be selected during this cycle. Nominations should include a vita and a cover letter describing: 1. The applicant's major discipline and focus of work in the areas of research, practice or policy related to child maltreatment. 2. Specific topics and areas in which the nominee is especially competent to review. Nominees should describe their research and/or practice experience in these areas as well as any previous experience as a reviewer (describe experience in conducting or evaluating empirical research and data analysis). 3. Any research, practice, policy or cultural perspectives the applicant would bring which would enhance the diversity of the Board. 4. The applicant's understanding of the work expectations. Nominations must be received by January 1, 2011. Self-nominations as well as nominations in support of a colleague are encouraged.
