Subject:Training available on housing interventions to prevent child maltreatment and youth homelessness

Dear All, Dear All, On November 15-16, 2010 in Washington DC, the National Center for Housing and Child Welfare along with partners including the National Association of Social Workers will hold a two-day training event bringing together public housing authorities, other housing professionals and child welfare professionals to share information and resources about leveraging housing resources. HUD has made available $65 million in permanent housing subsidies through the Family Unification Program to reunite families and to prevent homelessness among youth aging out. Please join us to learn more about this program as well as other resources to arm child welfare workers with resources can they need to provide appropriately matched services to families and youth with housing and other economic challenges. This is not a solicitation as due to the generous support of the Freddie Mac Foundation and Casey Family Programs, we are able to waive the registration fee for child welfare professionals.
