CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT FELLOWSHIP THE KEMPE CENTER FOR THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT The Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect, a section of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, announces the availability of a Post Doctoral Berger Fellowship. This is a 2-year postdoctoral research fellowship designed to support the development of someone who wishes to become an independent investigator in the field of child maltreatment and child welfare. One focus of the fellowship is to prepare the individual to obtain external funding. Most of the current research at The Kempe Center focuses on children in foster and kinship care. We are pilot testing interventions in randomized controlled trials, conducting developmental risk research, and studying the impact of major child welfare policies on the health, mental health and development of youth in foster care. Multiple federal and local grants fund these studies. There are also opportunities to collaborate with our multidisciplinary, multi-university developmental psychobiology research consortium and our health outcomes research group. Supervised clinical experiences are also available if needed to complement the research training. Please send a letter of your career interests and CV to Tamika Coleman, 13123 E 16th Ave, B390, Aurora, CO 80045 or email them to coleman.tamika@tchden.org .
