University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, Child Welfare Education and Research Programs (CWERP), Announcement of Research Assistant Professor Faculty Position Applications are being accepted for a research assistant professor non-tenure track faculty position. The child welfare position is available immediately and is an ongoing, 10 month appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience. The position is based at the main University of Pittsburgh campus in the Oakland section of the city and involves research and evaluation of programs located throughout the state. Position focus: The faculty member will work closely with the Principal Investigator, faculty and staff of the Child Welfare Education and Research Programs administered by the University (http://www.socialwork.pitt.edu/research/child-welfare ). These initiatives include undergraduate and graduate Title IV-E academic programs and the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Training Program. The person in this position is jointly responsible for the planning and implementation of statewide research and evaluation activities in child welfare including research design, implementation of protocols, data collection and analysis, report writing and the scholarly presentation of findings. The person will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with 67 county children and youth agencies and the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Academic Qualifications: MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work or closely allied field required. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experience in the planning and management of services research, preferably in child welfare, is required. Demonstrated record of external funding preferred. Other: The responsibility of the position includes considerable administrative detail; some travel; liaison with the university’s child welfare education and training continuum; supervision of student research projects at the masters and doctoral level; presentation at local, state and national conferences; and participation in the faculty affairs of the School of Social Work.
