Subject:Re: Peer Parenting and Parenting Education Curriculums

In Snohomish County here in Washington we have a group called the Veteran Parents Group. The group was started by two mother's who had been reunified with their children after navigating the DSHS CPS system, and now spend their time sharing their stories with parents who are still working to be reunited with their kids. We are currently working on a training curriculum for parents who are just entering the system; at this time focusing on visitation training for these parents. The group meets every Friday at our Everett YWCA for two hours, and provides resources and hope for parents who are new to the system. There are guest professional speakers on the first Friday of each month.
