Hi Everyone – Please see below for the new funding announcement from our National Quality Improvement Center on Early Childhood. Please note the pre-application webinar on October 15th from 3pm-5pm. Melissa ________________________________ From: Kate Stepleton [mailto:kate.stepleton@cssp.org] Sent: Thursday, October 01, 2009 1:28 PM To: Brodowski, Melissa (ACF) Subject: QIC-EC: Request for Proposals for Research and Demonstration Projects Request for Proposals for Research and Demonstration Projects October 1, 2009 The National Quality Improvement Center on Early Childhood (QIC-EC) is pleased to release a Request for Proposals for Research and Demonstration (R&D) projects. Interested parties are invited to submit proposals to implement and rigorously evaluate approaches to prevent child maltreatment and to promote family strengths and optimal development among infants and young children (birth-5) who are at high-risk for abuse, neglect, and abandonment, including those impacted by substance abuse and/or HIV/AIDS, and for whom there is no substantiated Child Protective Services report. The QIC-EC will fund 3 - 5 grants with a maximum funding per award of $1,240,000 for a 40-month grant period (March 1, 2010 - June 30, 2013), assuming five grants awarded. A match of 10% of the total project budget is required. A Letter of Interest must be submitted by November 9, 2009. Based on a review of the Letters of Interest, applicants may be invited to submit full proposals which will be due January 19, 2010. A webinar for prospective applicants is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2009, 3:00 – 5:00 PM EST. Questions may be submitted by email to the Project Director at qic-ec@cssp.org prior to the webinar and throughout the application period; answers will be posted on the website. The detailed Request for Proposals is available at www.qic-ec.org and includes the letter of interest and proposal requirements, selection guidelines, the overarching research question, the responsibilities of R&D projects, and guidelines for both the local evaluations and the cross-site evaluation.
