Subject:National Child Welfare Evaluation Summit materials now posted online

Dear Colleagues: On May 27-29, 2009, the Administration for Children and Families, Children’s Bureau, hosted its first National Child Welfare Evaluation Summit in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the Summit was to explore the current state of evaluation practice in the field of child welfare, and provided a forum to discuss dynamic tensions, like those between theory and practice, rigor and flexibility, fidelity and adaptability, and evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence in the field of child welfare. We are pleased to announce that all of the materials provided to the Children’s Bureau by presenters at the Summit are now available to the public on the website of James Bell Associates. These materials include PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and resources. To view and download the materials, please go to http://www.jbassoc.com/reports/summary.aspx and scroll down to the heading for “2009 National Child Welfare Evaluation Summit Washington DC.” The documents are listed by the order in which the associated workshop/panel appears in the Summit agenda, with the name(s) of the presenters also included to aid in online searching. If you experience any technical difficulties in locating or downloading any files, please send an email to mmiller@jbassoc.com . We hope you find these resources useful to you in your work with children and families. Bethany D.
