Subject:Re: Request for info on programs serving families "deflected" from CPS

We provide parenting education and some families are referred to us from our CPS agency. We work together on other services and I would like information or references to the service model you're asking about. It makes sense and shared funding for prevention and intervention makes sense for collective impact for stronger and safer families. Thank you. Cindy Currell. MSW. LISW-S. I am trying to identify states or counties/regions that have voluntary service programs dedicated to (i.e., exclusively intended for) families who are reported and potentially also investigated by CPS, but whose cases are closed at that point. I am particularly interested in examples of programs/services that are separate from/external to CPS. I am not looking for information on alternative/differential response models that are delivered internal to CPS systems. I know about “Community Response” in Wisconsin and Colorado, Minnesota's Parent Support Outreach Program (although I am not sure if this still exists or not), and I believe California may have a three-tiered front-end track with one of the tracks involving voluntary services delivered external to CPS. If you believe your state/county/region has such a program, if you could reply to me off-line with the name of the program and the entity that runs it, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thank you!
