registration is now open for the<b><span style='font-weight:bold'> </span></b><i><span
style='font-style:italic'>National Child Welfare Evaluation Summit</span></i>.
The <st1:City w:st="on">Summit</st1:City> will be held May 27 – 29, 2009,
at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Washington</st1:City>,
<st1:State w:st="on">D.C.</st1:State></st1:place> The purpose of the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Summit</st1:City></st1:place> is to explore the
current state of evaluation practice in the field of child welfare and to
promote cohesive, strategic, and sound approaches for evaluating child welfare
systems, programs, and practice. The <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Summit</st1:City></st1:place>
will focus on evaluation approaches, methods, findings, challenges, and
critical issues related to testing of interventions, implementing change, and
transferring knowledge at the individual practice, organizational, and systems
levels in child welfare. It will also provide a forum to discuss dynamic
tensions, like those between theory and practice, rigor and flexibility,
fidelity and adaptability, and evidence-based practice and practice-based
evidence in the field of child welfare.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
