The Tavistock Clinic/University of East London has been running a Masters programme in Child protection for a few years now and may have some useful advice/information for you on that side of your intended programme. I found it an excellent course and it included a theoretical year which included looking at organisational structures etc, clinical year and research/dissertation year.
