I highly recommend this program as well. Their program for 4-12 y.o. children
was offerred through my son's preschool several years ago and my husband and I
took it-I had a background in pediatrics/child abuse; however, my husband did
not. Therefore, we were coming from two entirely different places regarding
our knowledge of child development and parenting techniques. In addition, the
birth of our third child within a 4-year period had left us feeling like our
entire household was out-of-control. This program made a tremendous
difference-the separate program for children was a critical component, as was
the group support and practical parenting information. I recommend programs
like this for all parents-not just the ones who are 'in the system', because
the simple act of setting aside time to address parenting issues can have a
big impact. For couples, I think this is important also, because many of us
'fly by the seat of our pants' regarding parenting, and may not take the time
to examine what we're doing until we become aware that there's a problem.
