Re: Increasing parental involvement in child abuse treatment?

first of all, i'm not sure that attrition with mandated child abuse programs is higher than other types of programs if the parents/family is court-ordered to treatment. i suggest reviewing an old, but informative artilcle by David Wolfe

Wolfe, D.A., Aragona, J.A., Kaufman, K., & Sandler, J. (1980). The importance of adjudication in the treatment of child abusers: Some preliminary findings. Child Abuse and Neglect. 4. 127-135.

Beyond this, there is a rich literature on attrition that you may want to address (Kazdin has a somewhat dated, but very good review of this). Highlights point to maternal mental health (i.e., mother depression) and rapport development as key factors. Obviously, there is much more - but this is a start.
