re: CPS training in child fatalities

Dear Sheila,

I suggest that you contact Dr. Michael Durfee at the National Center on
Child Fatality Review (NCFR). One of the primary roles of this Center is to
provide training and technical assistance at the local, state, and regional
levels in matters dealing with child fatalities. At the recent Child
Maltreatment Conference in San Diego, Dr. Durfee's workshop handout included
a general guideline on "grief intervention". I believe that Dr. Durfee is
also working with Los Angeles County on building some type of a "system of
support" for grief and mourning services to families. The Center can be
reached at: dtilton@xxxxxxxxxxx or via their web site at:
http://child.cornell.edu/ncfr/home/html. Dr. Durfee can be reached at:
michaeld55@xxxxxxx.
