Requires a B.A., B.S., in psychology or related field, M.A. preferred. Experience with data collection methods, Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Experience with children, observational coding, and/or families preferred. Applicant should have a strong sense of scientific integrity and enjoy working as a member of a team. Collaborative responsibilities will include training and supervising research assistants, interviewing couples and children, and applying observational coding systems. <br>

Grade: N.11 <br>Salary: $30,000 - $40,000<br><br><br>Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Two months of full time reliable coding experience. At least two months of use, with increasing complexity, in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Proven knowledge of human subject compliance codes and scientific data collections methods. Experience in a full-time psychology research laboratory. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team setting. Experience supervising others. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Applicants must submit their operator's license number on their application form for a motor vehicle check. <br>
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Background in family research. Six months to one year of full time experience and reliability with coding systems. Experience with mainstream statistical packages. Proven writing skills. Background in prevention, developmental psychopathology, or family violence a plus. <br>
<br>Brief Description of Duties: To assist in the professional execution of a study examining how violence affects the family environment. <br>Coordinate and oversee all aspects of in-home assessments of families with young children as part of a randomized, controlled, prevention trial, including: <br>
-Work closely with Project Director to ensure timing of assessments is correct.<br>-Conduct home-based assessments with families.<br>-Train staff and students to conduct assessments.<br>-Supervise staff and students in conducting assessments.<br>
-Oversee data management systems to ensure fidelity of all data collected. <br>Coordinate and oversee coding of observational and interview data collected from families <br>Work with program team to ensure not only the assessments, but the project as a whole, is running optimally. <br>
Conduct basic data analyses to monitor data systems, project enrollment, and fidelity. <br>Collaborate with Project Director to manage data on the educators working with the families. <br>Along with Project Director and principle investigators, prepare reports for IRB, sponsors, and agencies.<br>
<br>Other Duties: <br><br>Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. *Night and weekend work is required. Travel will be required for this position.<br>

Supervise undergraduates in all aspects of the recruitment and data collection ensuring that all human subject protocols and compliance are being met. <br>Responsible for determining or making judgments on alterations to day to day operation in order to achieve goals within standards set by IRB. <br>
Help create subject running protocols and use protocol to collect human subject data. <br>Help in grant preparation including, but not limited to, creating budgets, budget justifications, and literature reviews. <br>Based on working knowledge of coding systems, learn/ create advanced Observational coding techniques and be reliable. <br>
Train and supervise peers and undergraduates in coding techniques. <br>Run various levels of data analyses and interpret data. <br>Assist in the determination of which statistical methodology to use in order to complete analyses. <br>
Train and supervise others in various data analyses techniques. <br>Assist in writing up data analyses for scientific publications or for other deliverable products.<br><br>Other Duties: <br><br>Special Notes: This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
