Help with LONGSCAN (or familiar with the brief symptom inventory)?
Listserv-
Does anyone know the clinical cutpoint utilized for the Brief Symptom
Inventory in the Age 8 LONGSCAN dataset? I need to dichotomize caregivers
by +/- depressive symptoms and am assuming that I can use a cut point for
the T scores of the BSI depression subscale.
The LONGSCAN group utilized a definition from Derogatis 1993 (Table 3, page
40 of the LONGSCAN manual), but this is from a copyrighted assessment tool.
I have found one reference to >=63 on the T-score but this seems to provide
a higher % of positives than that listed in the manual.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kris
