First, I'd say the word "mark" needs to be clearly defined.  There is always
a red mark after a spanking that quickly fades away.

Maybe she should ask if it left a mark that remained after one hour or some
specified amount of time.  Or, maybe add more questions about the severity
of the mark... was it a bruise, was it red, was there a welt, etc.
