In one of the Nordic countries (Denmark, perhaps), it is illegal to give your child a first name other than those which appear on a list of "approved" names. Parents have actually been penalized for bestowing unapproved names on their children. I don't know the logic behind that policy, but given the topic of this discussion, it might be interesting to find out. On another subject, thanks a million to those who provided names of trainers who can address the issue of child witnessing of family violence. I got a number of very helpful leads, and will be contacting these people. -Randy Webber ----------------------------------------------------- J.
