Re: teacher assessment tests



As far as I know, priests are the only professionals who undergo such an assessment, and I don't know if that's even in all branches. In SOME branches, priests are given a series of instruments and are interviewed by a psychologist. I don't know how successful that's been....

The question seems to imply that teachers are in a high risk group for offending. yes, they have access to children, but I believe the number of teacher-offenders is quite low, even though they do make the news. Does anyone have stats for that? After mothers, teachers are the largest group to receive disclosures and report abuse. The most likely offender against a child is a female relative's male partner. I think a concern with screening teachers is probably misplaced. My two cents.
