RE: child welfare publications

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">As an aside, I would like to add a comment
about my experience with CWLA publications (the publisher of the Child
Welfare journal in question). We contributed a chapter to an edited book
they were planning on the topic of the child welfare workforce crisis.
The original &quot;due date&quot; for all the chapters was the summer of
2002, with publication planned for late that year or early 2003. As of
today, the book is still &quot;in press&quot;, which must be some sort
of record for publication delays! Over the past five years we've been told
repeatedly that the delays in publishing are due to severe staff reductions,
budget cuts, and changes in management. And now they are reconsidering
whether to publish the book at all. &nbsp;</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Based on the experiences others have
shared here, it sounds like their management issues have also impacted
the journal operations.</font>
