In a message dated 99-06-03 09:39:32 EDT, you write: << In many cases where MSBP is being investigated the child is left with the parent for months or a year even, under close covert observation, whilst evidence is collected, during which time the symptoms persist, only to disappear when finally the separation is executed. >> Dr. Morgan, I don't know of your personal experience. I know of many cases where kids have been separated from moms and DIED in medical care. No proof is no proof. The point is to keep a scientific mindset and not let suspicion override well founded professional judgment. Seldom does a sick child have a better asset than a concerned parent, in my opinion.
