Travel Grants

Neurobiological Consequences of Neglect 
September 24-25, 2007
Duke University, Durham, North Carolina

The Translational Research on Child Neglect Consortium (TRCNC) will 
provide travel grants to a small number of young scholars to attend 
the upcoming meeting on Neurobiological Consequences of Neglect to be 
held September 24th and 25th, 2007 at Duke University in Durham, North 
Carolina.  A major goal of the TRCNC is to promote research career 
development.  Those awarded Young Scholars Travel grants will receive 
additional mentoring from a senior faculty member of the TRCNC on 
their research careers and future grant submissions as part of the 
annual meeting.

To be considered for this grant, applicants should send:
• a completed application (see below, or e-mail TRCNC@jjay.cuny.edu);
• a copy of your curriculum vitae (CV) or biosketch;
• a one-page description of your current research and your interest in 
child neglect; and
• a letter of support from a supervisor or mentor.

As the travel stipends are meant to go to young scholars 
(postdoctoral, minority and young investigators) who would not be able 
to come to the meeting without some financial support, a cover letter 
should explain why attendance would not be possible without financial 
support.

Women and those from underrepresented groups, including racial/ethnic 
minorities, are encouraged to apply.

TRCNC@jjay.cuny.edu no later than Sunday, July 1, 2007.  Letters of 
support can be emailed in PDF format to the above address or faxed to 
TRCNC with an attached cover sheet including the applicant’s name to

Applicants will be notified by Monday, July 16, 2007 about the status 
of their application.
