I am interested in any theories concerning why, and when, reporters do and do not report. I am familiar with studies, for example, by Zellman and Crenshaw, both published in CAN. It seems to me that these studies, while certainly worthwhile and based on plausible explanations, do not delineate a theory in terms of specific psychological or social-psychological mechanisms. But perhaps I have misread them and am unaware of other work. Please advise.
