We are conducting a study of siblings in foster care in CA and are searching for related literature. We are specifically looking for studies detailing rates of placement of sibling groups by type of placement, ethnicity, type of abuse, age, detained at same time, etc... We are also interested in the interplay of adoption and sibling placement, especially as it relates to ASFA. Further, we're interested in legal and theoretical constructs of the family, and the importance of siblings within these constructs. An initial lit review yielded studies by Maureen Smith, Staff and Fein, and Rebecca Hegar (among others). Does anybody have any references they consider seminal in this area? I'll put together the responses and post them to the group. Thank you!
