Children who thwart sexual abuse attempts

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I'm wondering if anyone knows of any research specifically investigating children who successfully thwart advances from a potential sexual offender.&nbsp; While I am aware of a body of research looking at risk and protective factors related to sexual abuse, including personality, mental health, and family characteristics, I am not aware of</FONT><FONT COLOR="#FF0000" SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"></FONT> <FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">any studies that utilize interviews with children (or restrospectively, adults abused as children) to discern, 1) how the child came to know that what the offender was trying to do was wrong, 2) how the child came to know what to do in that </FONT><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">circumstance</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">, 3) how the child felt she/he was able to respond as he/she did to the attempt, 4) what were the short and long-term implications to the child (from the child's perspective) of being able to thwart the attempt.&nbsp; Thanks for any help you can offer.</FONT></P>
