Last week I made a query and did not get much response, I am modifying my request. The New York City office of the Special Commissioner published a report around 91 or 92 Titled PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE. FINAL REPORT OF THE JOINT COMMISSION OF THE CHANCELLOR AND THE SPECIAL COMMISSIONER. In this report it states that research has shown the reaction to the child's first disclosure of sexual abuse is crucial, because there is often no second disclosure. The report does not cite this research. I am looking for research on the appropriate reaction to a disclosure that has more than just reporting procedures. Are there programs for educators that teach an appropriate response? Thanks, Jim Harrity Doctoral Student Child and Family Studies University of Massachusetts, Amherst
