RE: National Standards - Clarification

I just sent an e-mail, but feel the need to re-state it just in case.

It was explained by NDACAN that if a county has fewer than 1000 children in their foster care system, then the county is re-coded as '8' and not disclosed.

I don't know... this is what the Archive has told us... We will have to double check. The AFCARS data does not identify Allen County.. But perhaps they could have made the mistake!

Carrie,
The population of Ft. Wayne in Allen county is around 250,000. Can it
really be that there are only 1,000 children in the whole county?!?!

Jim, the mystery is solved. Allen County does not show because there
are fewer than 1000 children living there. It must have seen a decrease
in its child population since the last time we provided you with data.

Christine Frederick did the data extraction and formatting for the
attached report.

I hope this meets your needs.

Carrie
