Children's Resource Center, a regional child abuse specialty service. We always
looked forward to our meetings with Bill. They were relaxed, informative,
productive, and full of laughter and inspiration. He was quite sick at that
time, but his spirit was always very alive and connected with others. I am
appreciative that he beat cancer for so many years. Of course, I would have
liked him around longer. I appreciate that

kind and humble, when he saw me he said that I should be up there teaching with
him. He always honored the infant attachment family! I will also miss the way in
which he so sensitively, elegantly, and usefully organized his clinical
observations so that they made sense to both researchers and clinicians. Above
all I will miss his professional leadership. He was kind, he was noble, he was
smart, he was funny, and he loved what he did and we loved that he did it so
well. A dear friend and colleague he

Bill’s favorite hobbies. Reading and writing short stories were other
passions of his. He appreciated all forms of nature and was especially
fond of bird watching and riding his bike on trails across Minnesota.
Additionally, Bill was very politically aware and a good Minnesota liberal
through and through.

Survivors include his wife Wanda, daughter
Hannah (Eric Refsell), and son Karl. A daughter, Lydia Adrianna, preceded
him in death. He was a fantastic father and husband and enthusiastic
supporter of the arts. Bill was well respected by his friends and
