style='font-size:12.0pt'>I certainly agree with you. There is also evidence
that one of the problems that was pervasive in Sir Roy Meadow's career was a
fundamental failure to understand the rudiments of the scientific method. Some
of this is exemplified by his work on the personality charateristics of
supposed MSBP mothers. Among some of the obvious methodological problems were
problems in the definition of a positive case, small sample size, failure to
use a clinical non-MSBP comparison sample etc. I could go on and on, but it is
of concern that the MSBP theoretical edifice is built on a foundation of
science that would not pass muster in an undergraduate statistics class. It
long past time that MSBP, MBSP, FDBP and PCF be abandoned in favor of something
like "medical child abuse" so we can get rid of all the
pseudoscientific baggage. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
