approximately 906,000 victims of child maltreatment in 2003. Of that
number, approximately 9.9 percent were victims of sexual abuse. An
estimated 6.3 percent of perpetrators of sexual abuse were a foster parent(s). Child
protective services agencies nationwide provided the data for this report.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
