RE: parent effectiveness training

These resources may be of some help:

1. "Using Evidence-Based Parenting Programs to Advance CDC Efforts in Child
Maltreatment Prevention-Research Brief 2004"
http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/pub-res/parenting/

2. Click on the "Parenting Training" link at
http://nccanch.acf.hhs.gov/topics/prevention/what_works/program_techniques.c
fm for a long list of abstracts and references for various evaluation
studies of parent programs.

3. "Emerging Practices in the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect"
summarizes evaluation designs and findings for several promising CAN
prevention programs, some of which focus on parent training. Take a close
look at Family Connections program, which has shown great results.

Subject: parent effectiveness training

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families would like to know
about methods for assessing the impact of parent effectiveness training.
These could range from very specific tools such as pre-tests and post-tests
to longer-term studies of the impact of the training on parenting. We are
interested in hearing from researchers, practitioners, or agencies who have
looked at the issue.

Thank you for your attention.
