Title: Research Coordinator
Location: Columbia University School of Social Work
Description: Under the guidance and supervision of the PI, the coordinator
will manage the daily activities for a CDC funded 3-year randomized trial
of a child abuse preventive intervention. The research coordinator will
additionally manage daily research activities on related studies and assist
in adjunctive activities in the development of a program in child abuse
prevention research, including work on grant writing. This is an excellent
opportunity for the right candidate to become involved in a newly expanding
program of child abuse prevention research. Travel to and from study sites
is required.
Qualifications: Required job qualifications include an advanced degree
(minimum, masters level) in a relevant socio-behavioral/health related
discipline (e. g. public health, social work, etc.), plus two years prior
relevant research experience. The position could be structured as a
postdoctoral fellowship. Outstanding written and oral communication skills
and demonstrated capacity in project management and field research with
vulnerable populations are essential. Excellent organizational and
interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail required.
Experience in grant-writing assistance and budget management is a plus.
Interest, flexibility, and capacity to work closely as a team player, and
to handle multiple research project responsibilities as necessary.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience and interest
in early childhood intervention and clinical research with vulnerable
families and children, as well as to applicants who plan to remain in the
position several years.
