Reporting rates of child abuse and neglect

Colleagues -

I am trying to identify research and/or data that demonstrates the decrease in reporting rates during the summer months and the increase in reporting rates of suspected child abuse and neglect when the school year resumes. I am interested in sources that link this spike to the increased surveillance that occurs when children attend school.

What is available to capture this reporting phenomenon short of asking several states what their monthly or quarterly reporting statistics? With thanks, Caren

Thanks in advance for your assistance. Caren
