Re: validated diversity/cultural competence scale

I am sharing this on behalf of a colleague in my office:

Some journal articles that may have great references for cultural
competecy scales are in the Journal, Child Welfare. Thye devoted a
journal in 2003 to issues around cultural competecy. I don't remember
seeing a specific scale but refernces might have some.
>From Child Welfare journal dealing w/ Cultural competecy:
Suleiman, L. (2003). Beyond Cultural Competence: Language Access and
Latino civil rights. Child Welfare, LXXXII(2), 185-200.
Another issue:
McPhatter, A. (1997). Cultural competence in child welfare: What is
it?
How do we achieve it? What happens without it? Child Welfare,
LXXVI(1),
255-278.

Good Luck,

Hello all,
I am working with a colleague on outcome research in a child protective
setting. We are looking at both process (primarily organizational) and
outcomes in a child welfare setting related to teaming. One of the
variables we are interested in studying is diversity and would love some
direction or suggestions from any of you who know of a validated scale -
ideally measuring diversity in a child protective setting, or if not, a
validated scale measuring diversity, diversity awareness or cultural
competence that we could review. At this point we are considering both
cps workers, administrators, and family members as potential subjects,
so the scale could be related to workers or family experiences and
outcomes.

Thank you,
