The Society for Social Work and Research conference is an influential
conference for the research-oriented schools of social work.  About 1/3
of the papers presented relate to child welfare but thus far there has
been very little about Family Group Conferencing/ Family Group Decision
Making in child welfare at SSWR. 

I am going to see if I can organize a symposium on FGDM research at the
next conference which will be January 13-16, 2005 in Miami, Florida. So
far, we have interest from FGDM researchers in California,
Massachusetts, North Carolina and Washington.  Let me know if you or
anyone you might suggest would be interested in joining this effort.
