Re: using virtual neighborhood comparison in evaluating neighborhood-based child maltreament evaluation
We have a edited book coming out this spring entitled "The Victimization of Children: Emerging Issues" (Haworth Press). One chapter entitled "No Safe Place: Assessing Spatial Patterns of Child Maltreatment Victimization" uses hot spot analysis and kernel density interpolation with a GIS dataset from the Charlotte police department and census data to examine spatial patterns of childmaltreatment and their ecological relationships. All of the articles in our book will also appear in the Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment and Trauma next month. Check it out - I think you might find it interesting.
