RE: request for recent incidence stats
Were the data you found from the Third National Incidence Study (NIS-3)? The Child Maltreatment reports you have been referred to (http://www.acf.dhhs.gov/programs/cb/publications/cmreports.htm) contain data only on children who have been investigated by CPS. The NIS goes beyond CPS referrals. The next NIS is in the planning stages, but I don't think data collection has even begun, so it will be a couple of years, possibly, before it is out. I have seen some smaller studies that estimate incidence rates in various localities, but until the next NIS, the 1996 one is, I believe, our only source of national data.

Can anyone provide me with a link to the most recent incidence statistics for child sexual abuse? The last set I could find on the NCCAN database page was from a 1996 report. I seem to recall that there was something more recent, but can't find it. Thanks in advance for your help.
