Graduate Research Assistantship in Child Maltreatment Prevention

The University of Maryland School of Social Work's Center for Families is pleased to announce the availability of up to four years of support for a social work doctoral student interested in child maltreatment prevention research. The successful candidate will receive an appointment beginning in Fall 04 to work under the supervision of Dr. Diane DePanfilis and will participate with an interdisciplinary research team on studies related to child maltreatment and child welfare. This assistantship consists of a stipend in the amount of $19,000.00, plus tuition remission for up to 10 credits for the Fall and Spring semesters.  The appointment expects the student to work 20 hours per week over 12 months during the first two years to gain experience in all aspects of child maltreatment prevention research.  Partial support is available for two additional years for a student who focuses his/her dissertation research on community-based child maltreatment prevention.  Students interes!
