style='font-size:12.0pt'>The Kempe Children's Center at the University of
Colorado Health Sciences Center is accepting applications for two possible
Fellowships in child abuse and neglect to begin July 2004. These 2-year
postdoctoral research fellowships are designed to support the development of a
leader in the field of child abuse and neglect. The two potential fellowships
for July 2004 are:</span></font></p>

</span></font></span></font><u>Clinical research</u> in child abuse and
neglect: the successful candidate will develop studies in anticipation of
leading clinical trials to test preventive or clinical interventions.</p>

</span></font></span></font><u>Policy research</u> in child abuse and neglect:
the successful candidate will develop empirical research studies to understand
the impact of current policies or services on health and mental health outcomes
for abused and neglected children. </p>

style='font-size:12.0pt'>One focus of the fellowship is to prepare the
individual to obtain external funding. Most of the research at the Kempe
Children's Center currently focuses on children in foster and kinship care. We
are developing clinical trials of mental health interventions, conducting
developmental risk research, and studying the impact of major child welfare
policies on the health, mental health and development of youth in foster care.
Multiple federal and local grants and local fundraising fund studies. There
are also opportunities to collaborate with our multidisciplinary,
multi-university developmental psychobiology research consortium and our health
