David,
I'll ask Cathy Greenberg to send you some material that may be of interest. If you have any additional questions, let us know.

Hello,
My name is David Wazdatskey and I am a Children's Services Supervisor in
Southern California. Like many people I do not have access to much research
info and so have joined the list to learn about what I don't know. Are
there any on line Internet sites where I can read about the Organizational
Climate issues referenced in the Glisson and Hemmelgarn footnote? I found
the
N. Carolina web site on this issue very practical. My 750 employee
organization offers services to more than a million and a half people in a
geographical area of over 20,000 square miles. We are very concerned about
work climate issues.
Sincerely
David Wazdatskey
Supervisor of Social Services Practitioners
Department of Children's Services
County of San Bernardino
California, U.S.A.

Hi Andrew,

This is a really interesting article. There has been recent discussion on
this issue lately, so you may want to check the archives.

Glisson, C., & Hemmelgarn, A. (1998). The effects of organizational climate
and interorganizational coordination on the quality and outcomes of
children's service systems. Child Abuse and Neglect, 22(5), 401-421.

Dear all

I am not sure if this has been recently covered on the list or
not, but I am interested in any research that examines the impact
that frequent changes in social worker/case worker has on
outcomes for maltreated children. I suspect that when the
relationship between a child and their family breaks down,
having an established trusting relationship with another adult,
such as a social worker, may act as a protective buffer on top
of any therapeutic work undertaken. If so, does frequent changes
in social worker, diminish the effectiveness of child care
services offered.

I am interested in any research that sheds light on this
issue.
