I'd like to see the material you referred to but a PsychInfo search yielding
7 hits on Heather Taussig did not include anything on that topic and a
search on the American Humane web site yielded no hits at all. Can you be
more specific as to where one might look? Is the name perhaps spelled
differently?

Thanks,
Ron Kokish

Some work done by Heather Taussig at the Kempe Center looked at this. They
found children in the foster care system had more positive outcomes if they
were place in non-kin foster homes. I think she published a couple articles
on this topic also.
