We are about to conduct a telephone survey on parental
violence using a nationnaly representative sample of quebec's family
(canada). As we plan to interview either mothers and fathers on attitudes
and practices regarding psychological agression and physical violence towards
children (using the PCCTS), we are wondering what gender should ideally be
the interviewer for the father's part. Are female interviewer more reliable to
talk to about child's discipline or should the interviewer be male to maximize
the respondent's (fathers) identity?
