RE: How many 'Parenting Stress Index' (PSI) scales exist?
Hello,
I can think of two possible explanations for the confusion:
1. There is a short form of the Parenting Stress Index. Here's a recent
reference:
Reitman, D., Currier, R.O., & Stickle, T.R. (2002). A critical evaluation of
the Parenting Stress Index-Short Form (PSI-SF) in a Head Start population.
Journal of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology, 31, 384-392.
2. PSI sometimes refers to the Parent Success Indicator, a very different
scale:
Collinsworth, P., Strom, R., & Strom, S. (1996). Parent Success Indicator:
Development and factorial validation. Educational & Psychological
Measurement, 56, 504-513.
Hope this helps.
