RE: Query

Yes Maria, quite a lot of other stuff is going on - including in the UK! For
eg most of our current research isn't on sexual abuse, - the programme can
be found on our website : (it's in process of being updated )

This is just a plea from the heart to all 'out there'. Is there anyone
who is researching child abuse and neglect apart from sexual abuse? All
I ever seem to see is research in this area. While not wishing to undermine
or devalue such research or the impact of sexual abuse, what concerns me
is that here in the UK, at least, abuse appears to becoming synonymous with
sexual abuse. Other forms of abuse are also extremely detrimental to
childrens'
development - especially neglect - so is this apparent absolute emphasis
on sexual abuse just my mistaken perception?

Excuse my ranting!
