Reading a new book right now (but unfortunately don't have it here at home)
entitled "The Batterer as Parent."  Has very good analysis of the
characteristics of batterers, impact on the whole family, their impact in
undermining the mother as parent, etc.  Sorry, I don't have the author's
name.  This would be a good resource when defending a custody attempt by a
battering father.
