Another definition that is commonly used is medical evidence substantiating 
sexual abuse.  Of course, most confirmed cases of sexual abuse do not have 
positive medical findings, so this would be a very conservative definition, 
IMHO.

Good point!  I realize that this might vary from study to study. I would
prefer the most conservative definition possible (e.g., criminal
conviction) but would be interested in knowing according to any criterion
(e.g., substantiation by CPS).
